PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Roisin McGettigan, a former Providence College track and field star, qualified for the final of the 3,000 meter steeplechase after a stellar second-place finish in her preliminary heat of the event on Friday, August 15. She completed the race in a season best time of 9:29.92. There were three preliminary heats of the steeplechase; the top-four automatically qualified for the final to be held on Sunday, August 17. McGettigan will look for an olympic medal in the final of the 3,000 meter steeplechase.
